Chinook Fund Grant Recipients

2023 Grant recipients:

End of the Rainbow  creates sponsorship circles (groups of five), hosts support groups, and provides education to help LGBTQ+ people settle in their homes and community.

Threads That Thrive  aim to relieve the effects of poverty by providing clothing to at-risk gender-diverse individuals, advancing education by providing life skills, and lessening conditions relating to body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria by enhancing access to affordable and equitable skills workshops.

Rainbow Elders Calgary advocates for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors in Calgary.  Their Chinook Fund Grant will help them significantly expand their outreach and increase access to meaningful engagement facilitating lasting social connections among underserved 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.

YOUthRiot is presented by Alberta Playwrights Network and provides an opportunity for Calgary’s Queer Youth to raise their voices and share their stories.

The YWCA’s DBT Skills Group.  The Chinook Fund is proud to announce that our one of the two 2018 grants has been awarded to the YWCA’s DBT Skills Group assisting with counselling and programming for LGBTQ+ youth.

The Calgary Queer Arts Society.  The Chinook Fund is proud to announce our second 2018 grant has been awarded to the Calgary Queer Arts Society to help fund its LGBTQ2S+ Health & Wellness Conference

Bullying Ends Here is a highly effective program of school presentations and providing information to eliminate bullying and it’s horrible results, including suicide.

Calgary Sexual Health Centre has a wide variety of programs including the one our grant went to, that being to establish a support group for parents and guardians of transgender youth.
